Tony Segreto Hosts Program About Homelesness June 14th

A special taping took place June 14th with community experts and representatives concerning homelessness and the Broward 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness. Tony Segreto from Channel 6 hosted the event and is seen here with Ron Ishoy who produced and directed the one hour show.

May25th - Miami-Dade College Art Auction

Emilio Poljanec (left) is a successful graduate and has been assisting with Miami-Dade College to hold an art auction. The proceeds will benefit our Centers and work with the homeless and needy. Emilio says that it's great that he can now help give back for all the help he has been given. Call 305.572.2211 for more information or contact us . The auction will take place on May 25th, from 5 to 9 PM at the Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus, 300 NE 2nd Ave., Miami 33132.

May 7th
Hollywood Center Graduation

On the first Sunday of every month, the clients of the Hollywood Center get together to celebrate men and women who are advancing in the program and those that have completed the program. Music, poetry, and testimonies of changed lives are part of this celebration. Pictured is Henry (3rd from left) embracing his mom with family and friends. May 5th - Pompano Center Gets Playset

A brand new playground was installed for our children at the Pompano Center. Mike Gordils was the representative from Playground Services Inc.www.qualityplaysets.com Mike is a certified Playground safety inspector and he and his wonderful crew donated, transported, constructed and verified for safety the play set.

Rev. Nate Bush and Sandy Zinzer from Community Christian Church along with a group from their youth ministry helped coordinate the function with Channel 10 news and Playground Services Inc.


April 19th - Broward Volunteers Honored

Our Fantastic Volunteers of the Hollywood and Pompano Centers were honored April 19th at a luncheon held at Try My Tai restaurant. April 6th - Miami Commencement Ceremony

16 Men and Women, who successfully completed the residential programs of the Center for Men and Center for Women and Children, celebrated their accomplishments. Testimonies of the graduates, special music, and a charge from Dr. Frank Jacobs, President, took place.

Family and friends attended. A reception was held after the ceremony. We are proud of each one. These men and women are just a few of the changed lives made possible by our supporters.

Ms. Tai Vaz (left), is presented the Partnership Award for an Individual by Ms. Erica Solodkin (right) at the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce's 43rd Annual Awards and Installation Dinner held March 4, 2006 at the Westin Diplomat Resort. Art Exhibition to Benefit Center For Women & Children

The 2006 Women of Distinction held an art exhibition entitled “Through Her Eyes” on May 12th at Coconut Grove Gallery & Interiors. This was a time to honor local women who have made a difference in the community as well as showcase local artists. Cindy Eisaman, Maria Bailey, Patricia I. Hayhurst, and Dolly McIntyre received the Women of Distinction Award for 2006. Part of the proceeds from the art exhibition will be donated to the Miami Center for Women and Children.
